So it’s my first blog post and I’ve got that uneasy feeling going on in the pits of my stomach, but I’m also extremely excited to start writing! Strange mix, but one that I would say most people end up experiencing at least once in their lives. Anyways, hi my name is Liz! I wasn’t quite sure how to really introduce myself, so I’m starting with the basics.
I was born and raised in Central New Jersey, and have recently made my way to the beautiful city of Columbus, Ohio. My family is amazing. Wearing proudly the title of middle child, I am one of six kids; three older brothers (a set of twins in the mix), a younger sister, and a younger brother. Although it gets a little crazy with all of us in a one- story ranch, I love each of them and wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world. My parents contribute too, every once in a while. ;)
I am a student at Ohio Dominican University, majoring in Public Relations and minoring in Business. My career interests after graduation are towards the nonprofit, event planning, and agency fields. It may seem that the three don’t exactly have too much to do with one another, but my ultimate goal for the future does. My ideal job is to do PR and social media consulting for nonprofit organizations. And the event planning part? Well events are how we all connect!
Aside from PR career aspirations, I have a passion for two other things: baking and learning about cultures through experiences with others. As someone who likes to stay busy, I can be found in the kitchen during the little downtime I have after school, work, and my internship. Sweets are my weakness ( and coffee!) and I find happiness in creating and decorating them. Different cultures are fascinating to me, but reading out of a history book is not. I love meeting new people from all areas of the world, and learn about their cultures through my relationships with them. Traditions, foods, languages, habitats; I love discovering more about all of it.
I think that gives you all at least a start to knowing who I am, and I’m sure the future posts will continue to reveal little bits and pieces.
